Rotundus is a submission for vtuber Amiya Aranha's 2025 Bucko Game Jam!

Amiya Aranha, symbiotic spider mom to her buckos, has been missing for some time. The old buckos tell stories of her being stolen from them one night, with little a clue to go by. The buckos, running on emergency amitoxin stores, worked for years to collect resources and knowledge to develop the science and tech needed to locate and recover her, but the amitoxin has run dry. An alternative, oneirium, was discovered from the harvesting of bucko dream energy, though as a derivative substance, it alone is not enough to sustain the population. With nothing left, the buckos face a gradual withering away.
Take on the role of Rotundus, a bucko of exceedingly rotund size and shape, nurtured and hatched from a bucko egg bathed in the last of the remaining amitoxin. The buckos equip and train Rotundus to operate the oneirium powered devices and machinery designed for use in her recovery from an identified location in space. Travel to the Brined Planet Research Facility, recover Ami, and bring her home. Save Ami, her buckos, and the mutual appreciation and love shared among them. You are their last hope.

What an epic! All the lore and references are super cool and the emotional impact was insane. I can feel the heart in this. I cried when Ami played it on stream and again when I played it. Wonderful submission!
Thanks. It means a lot. I was worried I was getting too heavy for a gamejam entry, especially one I was really trying to keep to around 30 minutes. I just wanted to fit as much as I could in 30 min. I'm really glad it was well-received.
